Why brown eggs cost more than white eggs

There really is no difference in content between a white egg and a brown egg but its price. It might be that brown eggs look special than white ones thats why they cost more, but the real reason might be on the hen that lays them. Rhode island red hens are bigger and has higher calorie requirements and therefore its costs more to raise it than hens that lay white ones.
