Market maker

A market maker is an individual or an institution that determines or quotes buy and sell prices. In Forex, retail Forex brokers are market makers meaning they set the rate of currencies offered to their clients. Retail Forex brokers acquire currency rates from banks and re-quotes the currencies at a slightly different rate for their clients.
