Offsetting transaction

An offsetting transaction is a state of a trading account that has open positions that removes risks imposed by another open position. For example, In forex tading, if a trader has an open EUR/USD position and opens another position that reacts to current economic events in the direction opposite to the behavior of the EUR/USD.
