Adjustable-rate preferred stock (ARPS)


Preferred stock holders are ahead in line to receive liquidation payments over common stock holders and thus more secure. On the dividend issue side, the adjustable-rate preferred stock of ARPS follows a benchmark for the final value of the issued dividends. In other words, the ARPS dividends often follow a benchmark for the amount of dividend to be distributed.
