Consumables

Items that are bound to be replaced regularly as a result of consumption or wear. Consumables are included in measuring inflation through the consumer price index. The index is a means to detect current inflation levels. However, consumables are less affected by economic cycles because items such as gasoline, groceries and clothing are continually being purchased no matter what condition the economy is in. Companies producing consumables often experience slow but steady stock price appreciations.
