Greater fool theory

A theory stating that the market is full of irrational people. There is no such thing as buying a stock at a high price and selling it at unreasonable levels because there is always someone who will be a greater fool to buy them. Some people will see the overpriced item while some will blindingly buy it regardless of the price. For a solid example of this see the Tulip Mania.
