Market depth

Market depth is the term used for the characteristic of a given market to sustain heavy selling or buying pressure while maintaining price stability. On individual stocks, it is the measure of how balanced or supported the stock is when a heavy selling pressure is applied to it. To counter this and stabilise the stock, a counter buying pressure has to meet it to feature a stable depth.
