Melt up

Melt up is a term used to describe irrational investor behavior trying not to miss on a rising stock even if its finances does not justify its rise. The reason for such dramatic increase in value is mainly herd behavior. Investors rush in to an artificially inflated stock so that they don't miss out the opportunity for gains.
