S&P 500

The Standard and Poor's 500 is an index that tracks 500 largest companies in the United States. First published in 1957, this market capitalization weighted index is the most widely followed index and regarded to be a clear representation of the US economy. This index however, ommits companies that are based outside the United States and replaced by another U.S based company.
