Spread


Spread in equities trading is the price difference between where an asset can be sold and bought. For instrance in stocks, if the the bid price for ABC company is $20.18 a share and the ask price is $20.22, then the spread is 4 cents. On an illiquid market, spread widens the gap between bid and ask.
