A stub is an over-leveraged company stock during times when the company is in a downturn and trying to recover. These stocks are primarily very risky since a recapitalized company might still carry over the same practices bad financial results earlier in its history. However, the potential for growth is very high since the stock will start at the very least amount investors would be willing to put out.
