Agency security

Agency securities are issued by agencies that are created by the government. The Federal Home Loan Bank, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation or the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) are some of a few agencies that the government sponsors who issues securities that are exempt from state and local income taxes. These agencies are also not required to register with the Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC)
