Barbell strategy

Barbell strategy is usually used by bond traders to allocate huge investment capital to both near term and long term bonds. This is done by bond traders who thinks that the bonds purchased with long term maturity will perform better than expected during the life of the bond compared with the short term bonds. The short term bonds are used to deliver cash flow or to finance administrative costs.
