Carry trade

Carry trade refers to a financial trading tactic where the trader borrows capital on a particular currency with a very low interest rate and then investing it in a country whose currency or its current financial climate provides a higher interest rate. The spread between the two interest rates translates into profit for the trader as long as the borrowed currency's interest rate does not surpass the interest rate of the country where it is invested into.
