Class of stock

Class of stock is a category placed on corporate issued stocks that separates or classifies a group of issues in terms of specific shareholder voting rights. Most classified stocks bear letter symbols such as A, B or C (IBM.A or IBM.B). One class of issued stock can have no voting rights at all while the other can have 1 vote.
