Common stock

Common stock or capital stock is a type of stock that is normally available for trade on a public stock exchange. Each share allows the shareholder to cast a single vote on matter of corporate affairs. Common stocks may not have regular dividends but its shareholders may receive a share of profit if the company's directors approve it.
