Consumer price index (CPI)

Consumer price index is an indicator that measures the changes of consumer related goods and services from a base period. Prices of goods from 1932 would be recorded and compared a year later in 1933 and so on to reveal changes in prices within a year or a specified time period. This report is compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the United States.
