End of the week liquidation

End of the week liquidation refers to the volume of trading on fridays as a result of a majority of traders trying to close their open positions in the market. This action reduces their fund's exposure in the market over the weekend and a posible reversal on monday. The liquidation creates a trading volume enough to significantly move security prices.
