Expiration cycle

Expiration Cycle in Options Contracts is the pattern of expiration used applied in the trading of near-term options contracts for the year.An investor may opt from one of the three cycles in which options contracts are written. Contracts can be for three, six, or nine months and expire every last day of the month. Upon the expiration of the cycle in the first month, it is dropped and the last month of that cycle is added to the cycle.
