Forward linkage

Forward linkages are industries or businesses formed as a result of the growth of a particular industry or business. For example, the forward linkage of building railways will be increased demand for tourism, transporting goods and establishments near railway stations. The internet's forward linkage would be internet based businesses that sell information, goods or services. Internet enabled cellphones are technologies that can be considered as a forward linkage for the increasing ubiquity of the internet.
