Old economy stocks

Old economy stocks refers to stocks whose underlying companies are engaged in the trade of goods and services prior to the arrival of the electronic age and biotechnology. These stocks belong to industries such as oil and natural gas, air transport, retailing, food processors, utilities, railroads, automobiles and insurance to name a few.
