Sale and leaseback

Sale and leaseback is an arrangement made by a company who wish to sell an asset to another company and then rents the same facility or equipment. The company that sells the asset is usually short in operating cash and its capital is tied to assets such as land, buildings or machinery. The term involved is usually a long one often lasting from 10-20 years.
